A lower-cost alternative to a Sage Fixed Assets data conversion

If you have been told the only way to fix your book data is a professional services engagement, or a delete-and-reimport, there is a third option.

Where people usually land

Most teams reach this page after a familiar sequence. They find a few thousand assets with the wrong dates, values or lives, discover that Custom Import only updates general information fields and Bulk Edit only changes method and life, and ask Sage support for help. The answer is to edit each asset or to engage Sage's professional services team for a quote.

Sage's team knows its software well, and for some projects it is the right call. But it is a custom engagement, and many finance teams find the cost or the wait hard to justify for what feels like a data correction.

Why it costs less

The tool already exists and has been used on client data since 2012, so you aren't paying for custom development on every project. Pricing is quoted on scope (number of assets, companies and books, and how many different rules apply) rather than open-ended hours. And because Angela Bolton has spent 30 years in fixed asset management, including more than 100 CIP implementations, the accounting judgment comes with the data work instead of being billed separately.

What we convert and correct

How the work is delivered

There are two ways to use the Critical Field Updater. Most clients start with a done-for-you project: you send the asset list and the new values, we agree on the effective-date rule for each group of assets, run a validation pass, make the changes, and hand back a before-and-after report by book that your team and your auditors can tie out. Clients who face these changes every quarter can run the same tool themselves through FAHA, our fixed asset platform, which connects to Sage Fixed Assets and keeps an audit trail of every change and who approved it.

Either way, every project starts with a full company backup in Sage Fixed Assets, and nothing is written until the validation report has been reviewed by a person on your side.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a replacement for Sage Fixed Assets?

No. Your assets stay in Sage Fixed Assets and you keep using it every day. We correct the data in place.

Are you affiliated with Sage?

No. Fixed Asset Consultant is an independent firm, and this service is not provided or endorsed by Sage. We work with your existing Sage Fixed Assets license.

How do you price a project?

On scope: the number of assets, companies and books affected, and how many different change rules apply. Request a quote with those details and you'll get a fixed price.

What if we already have a quote from someone else?

Send us the scope with your request. We are happy to give you a comparison so you can decide.
